One of our investigators was driving along Maryland Ave., one night when a small Ford Festiva ran a stop sign and was hit broadside by our investigator. Three girls were in the vehicle and all three ended up in the hospital. The Police said that the driver was in intensive care for internal bleeding in her brain and had her left arm broken in three places. The other two had a couple broken bones and bleeding from the head. The driver was actually in the passengers lap and the only way the police could get them out of the vehicle was by the jaws of life. The reason we are telling you this horrifying story is because those three young girls were all 17 years of age and supposed to be at a slumber party a mile away from their home in Chesapeake Maryland and that is over 50 miles away from DC. The parent of the children called our investigator and told him about the slumber party and that they are never supposed to be in Washington DC and apologized for what happened, even though the investigator was driving a considerably larger vehicle and only got a headache out of the whole deal, he felt like he should be the one apologizing.
